Our Lives: You Shall Go To The Ball
This factual documentary told the story of Jasleen, the first debutante of Indian heritage ever to attend the London season and the Queen’s Charlotte Ball.
The audience was guided through the elite world of the aristocracy through the eyes of a young Welsh Indian Debutante of working-class background.
Peppering pop facts through the voiceover helped to provide the general public with an understanding of this wealthy and privileged world.
The film also showed behind closed doors at some of the most private venues, clubs and stately homes in the country.
The programme gained 150k consolidated viewing figures, the highest in the ‘Our Lives’ strand series for 2022.
The film got significant press and PR coverage due to the controversial nature of The London Season, which in turn attracted higher viewing figures than expected for the slot/strand.
